Team in the North is a growing evangelistic organization  based in the Betelchurch, Rosvik in the north of Sweden. Since the start in 1990, the vision has been to send out preachers of the gospel to towns and villages in the north of Sweden, Norway, Finland and Russia and all over the world. There are many churches and individuals from different churches who support and share the vision.

Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no sheperd. Then He said to His disciples, "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." (Matthew 9:35-38 NKJ)

The founder of Team in the North, Jan Zetterlund, had experienced the calling from God to plant new churches on the Kola peninsula in Russia even before the founding of the organization. During a period of years a number of preparatory trips to the Murmansk area were made before the first campaigns were held in Apatity and Kandalaksja in the fall of 1991. There are five lively churches on the Kola peninsula today, planted by Team in the North.

The big poverty on the Kola Peninsula was immediately notized and a natural reaction was to help those in need. We have regularly since 1992 been transporting necessities to the Kola Peninsula. Hospitals, children´s homes and other institutions have recieved equipment, clothes and other material help. We have also provided the needy with food-packages. We were given a bus in 1993 by Håkan Fagervik from Nordmisjon in Norway, which has been frequently used in our work.

At the same time as we were working in Russia we also had teams working in the north of Sweden. They were visiting churches, helping them with evangelism. The teams were also involved in pioneeringevangelism in towns and villages with barely existing or non-existing christian activity. (For the moment we have no teams working in Sweden.)

Our work has during the last few years, resulted in that several of our former teamworkers have entered into other missionfields. We have supported and encouraged them in their work for the Lord. That was also the reason for starting up "Team in the North International. Our pupose was to help these missionaries with information and give them financial help. A network of international contacts has been made and it has been a wonderful blessing in the worldwide work for the Lord.

Since the work of Team in the North is completely depending on the help from our Lord and donations from ordinary people and efforts made by them we can´t neither do we want to take any credit or glory for the work done. But we would like to tell you about what God is doing in our time through Team in the North and how you can be part of it.
