Spain Palabras de Poder

The Palabras de Poder church is located in Mijas Pueblo, charming little village in the mountains about 8 km from the mediterranean coast between the two cities Malaga and Marbella. But let us begin at the beginning:Ulf and Gun-Britt Jonsson moved to Spain in the early 80's after 10 years as missionaries in Bolivia. God gave them a vision for Spain and guided them to begin a work here.They arrived in Toledo which, at that time, had a very small percentage of Christian. They began to hold meetings in town squares and door to door evangelism. In 1985 the first Palabras de Poder church was planted in Toledo.From Toledo they went to Andalucia to Jaén where they worked with a church for about two and a half years.After their time in Jaén, Ulf and Gun-Britt moved to Málaga with their youngest son, Johannes. That was in the spring of 1994 and in autumn of that year the Palabras de Poder church was started on the Costa del Sol.From our Bible-School in Mijas, we co-ordinate and plan different projects. The congregation has about 120 members but we often have people passing through or families on vacations visiting us. Words of Power – Costa del Sol – is an international Spanish congregation with members from 17 different nations, which gives a lovely atmosphere. We have a good exchange of different cultures which is a blessing for the church. We have many international contacts and co-operate with many churches and organisations throughout the world.Through the years we’ve had many missionaries working with us and supporting our church, who have come from U.S.A., Brazil, Great-Britain, and Sweden. In the year 2000 the son Johannes “Juanito” Jonsson took over the pastoral ministry of the church together with his wife Ulrika. Ulf and Gun-Britt continue to oversee and support the other congregations of Words of Power in Spain and also different churches in Sweden. Ulf is also one of the main teachers in the Bible-School.During many years we have been in contact with them and 1996 Jan Zetterlund was invited to speak at the Palabras de Poder's Bible Center in Mijas. The things that distinguish Palabras de Poder's work is devotion and a strong faith in what God is able to do. People are getting saved, restored, and delivered through their work. After that, they are being trained, mainly through the Bible Center to become disciples who works to gather in the harvest.Important to mention is the TV och Radio work that is being done. They are co working with for example TV-Inter and through them PdP have been able to produce a lot of Christian TV program in English and Spanish that has been broadcasted throughout the Malaga area, Barcelona, Canary Islands and Great Britain.
Johannes and Ulrica Jonzon is a young missionary couple who works within Palabras de Poder to reach thousands of young people who lives at the Spanish Costa Del Sol. They are unemployed and many of them have problem with drug addiction.
